Viña Errazuriz

While I definitely like to enjoy wines on the older side of old once in awhile, like the 1989, I thought this 1993 was still holding fresh(er) fruit vs. the 1989.
On the nose, rhubarb, spiced dates, notes of prunes, a little green pepper, black licorice, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, blue fruit hues, black cherry cola, vanilla, rich dark semi/sweet soil, chalky soft minerals and fresh dark floral bouquet.
The body is medium. The palate still shows some firm, tarry and a little sticky tannins. rhubarb, spiced dates, notes of prunes, a little green pepper, light pepper, black licorice, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, blue fruit hues, black cherry cola, vanilla, rich dark semi/sweet soil, tobacco with ash, chewy leather, chalky soft minerals and fresh dark floral bouquet with light violets on the palate edge. The acidity is round & gorgeous. The finish is leaner, ripe, elegant and lasts minutes.

Medium ruby garnet terracotta Rim. Quite dusty smoky nose , with some herbal notes , tobacco , dark sous bois and coffee . After while some red cherry also . On the palate some juicy fruit , dark blackberry , cassis , dusty tobacco . Ok medium length with balanced acidity and slightly dry tannin . Just starting to dry out on the finish , so better to drink this sooner than later, now and over the next 2-3 years. This is a little more rustic than other two vintages .
