Nose is quite exuberant, with aggressively earthy, minerally (almost iodiney) scents, with dark macerated cherry juice underneath. Intense and savory in the mouth, it’s soft and rich-textured for an annata. Medium acids and some soft, chalky tannins frame everything. A lot of wine for little money.

2020 is another winner in this value priced Chianti. Nose has dark cherry fruit (fresh and dried), lots of iron-tinged earthy minerals. Palate is round and initially soft, filling with ripe fruit then giving way to savory elements and a decent amount of soft tannin helping it cling. Terrific weeknight pasta/pizza wine

Traditionally styled CC. Nose needs some air to develop, then shows equal measure powdered rock dust and snappy cherry, along with a moist gravel note. Tightly-knit in the mouth, with tart intense cherry and dusty, stony minerality. Quite dry but with good concentration and zingy acids. This will be better in 2 years but is really good with chicken saltimbocca tonight!

Had a kind of deep, intense nose of tobacco and loam. Seemed to open up after an hour of air. Nice fruit, good tomato- based food wine.
