La Réserve Fleurie Gamay

Earthy. Kind of funky but not in a bad way. Fruit is definitely secondary. M acid, body and tannin. M finish. Good structure and balanced.

Nice gamay although doesn't have the brightness of others.

Paired this tonight with a pecan encrusted salmon with herb butter compote. OMG! Bomb! Beautiful red fruits with just the right amount of acidity and tartness. Gravely earth pokes through on the finish.

Light metallic quality. Cinnamon nose. Robust tannins.

Fruity, medium tannins, nice and solid but not a stand out wine.

30th bday dinner in steamboat

Very solid Fleurie, a touch smoky on the nose, not too earthy, perfect weight and acidity, on the shorter side but great with our steak frites.

Delicious. Great mix of earth and red fruit.

Barnyard, fresh strawberries, and pomegranate on the nose with a touch of banana, vanilla, and flowers. Wet earth. Light body, light tannins, and fast finish but the acidity lingers. Makes me want duck.

Good wine, better conversation. Once it warmed up it it had a plum-like nose.
