The 2017 Villa Maria Private Bin Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc shows the expected grassy, herbal nose with tropical fruit and minerals included. The palate is also full of those mineral notes, as well as lemon, lime and guava flavors. Acidity is brisk, and the lengthy finish is fresh and citrusy.

Pale straw colour with an assertive grassy and gooseberry on the nose. Lemon, passionfruit and slightly saline palate. Zippy acidity. Great, great value wine.

You know, it isn't particularly long or complex, but it's a nice acidic slap in the tongue that straddles the line between rubber pool toy and a crushed up Sweet Tart candy.
