Smells of hazelnut (common in aged wine for me)

This has mellowed a lot sconce I first tasted it, it has relaxed most of its muscle, and has become a much more eager to please than tanning dominating wine.
Heft to the body, with some barnyard decay, dried prune, oil cured olives, Thai basil, anise.
Tannins are still ready to slap you around, just not as much as they did in 2012 the acidity reminds me of a rechargeable battery. In a green way.

Intense body, low acidity and well integrated oak, I loved this #vacqueyras - good with eggs and poultry #vinisud

Vacqueyras doesn't ever get the credit it deserves. This one shows extreme finesse. This example displays the savory end of Grenache with dried black cherry and hints of prune. But there's definitely an underlying herbal kick, not the pyrazine inspired kind, but more Of what you'd find in Provence. A beautiful ensemble with considerable complexity.

Musky, peppery. Leather. A forest humidity. Woodsy.

Smooth operator, once again. Beautifully balanced fruit of plums with spice, acid, a leathered oaky quality.

Well made, well enjoyed.

Deep purple color, secondary garnet hues. Evidence of aging in the color. Nose has black and red fruit; fresh plum, dried prune, raspberry and blackberry preserves. Dark baking spices, such as cardamom, nutmeg, clove. Some Saddle leather and subtle smoked meat. Wet earth. Clay. Beautifully balanced on the palate. Strong tannins and medium finish. Vintage 2012. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. 14% ABV.

Nice, easy drinking Grenache blend. Much better after decanting for 20 minutes or so.
TW $29.74
