A classic in the making? The '05 Rocche is showing a beautifully lifted bouquet with dusty floral tones, cherry, raspberry, spice, crushed stone, leather and hints of undergrowth. It was feminine, gaining richness in the glass, with notes of tart cherry, inner rose, sweet herbs, and minerals giving way to palate-coating fine tannin. I finished, youthfully tart, and petite...but there is great potential here. Today, it was enjoyable three hours post double decanting.
