Very tasty. A touch oxidized in the nose but with air the citrus flavors really blossomed. A winner, plus love the old style bottle.

A great grand dame fully mature but with excellent intensity , bubbles and layers of flavors second best I have had ever next to the 1979! Wow!

Yes, good, but maybe a bit past it's prime or slightly oxidized. Classic champaign notes with almost 30 yrs behind them.

Continuing my foray into older champagnes, this one is fabulous—yellow fruits, bubbles in the background, great acidity and balance, almost chewy, great texture. Wish I had bought more.

1985 vintage La Grande Dame. At Boca di Lupo. On opening, there was absolutely no pressure from the bottle so I feared the worse. The wine was deep amber and looked oxidised to hell. There were some light bubbles. On smelling, it was clear the bottle was dead. Sherried to oblivion. Real shame.
