Celebrating my wife's first book!! Thought an aged RP 💯 point wine would do the trick.

3 hour decant (decent chunky sediment). A forbidding dark ruby red color. On the nose: very aromatic sweet perfume jumps from the glass with cherry, wet forest floor, bell pepper, and spice. Taste: red fruit, currents , chocolate, and minerals. Tannins have softened but still remind you they are still there. A dry, compact wine with a nice medium plus long blueberry pencil lead finish.

Verite has 3 Sonoma county cuvees made in Bordeaux styles that really need some age to shine:
Le Desir...Saint Emilion style (cab franc dominates).
La Jolie...Pauillac style (Cabernet Sauvignon dominates).
La Muse...Pomerol style (Merlot dominates)

A great wine shared with great friends. An excellent sip at the start with a complex blend of cherry and berries and earthy tones and chocolate. Wonderful tannins and dense, extraordinary texture all the way through the drink with lingering fruit that makes you want another sip. Spectacular.

100 points??? It's lush, balanced, rich, elegant, but 100 pts is maybe overdoing it...96.

Still think it's getting there. Really great in two more years.
