This is what Napa blends all aspire to be but fail so miserably more often than not. Magic juice spit forth by the wine gods. Ethereal, seamless structure. Aromatic and dense, but also dances lightly on the palate. Blackberry, smoke, herb, graphite. The minerality is the key aspect of this wine that stands out and is truly unique to many other Napa wines.

2013 vintage. Decanted (throwing a small amount of sed) and tasted after 45 mins and 1.5 hours. Medium-heavy body. Nose had the requisite and desired "funk." Amongst my handful of all-time best Sonoma Cabs/BDX blends (unfortunately, all too short after 32 years of extensive sampling). Phenomenal punch and acceleration. Shredding with impunity. Occasionally, that eff you ca$hi$h pays off. 7.19.24.

Really amazing wine. Loads of blue fruit on the nose. Graphite, charcoal and some wood notes on the palate. Great acid and nice tannins which make this wine ideal for aging. The only problem is that it is still a baby that needs a lot of time.

This wine is simply amazing. If I didn’t know better I would swear this is a young chateau latour. Decanted the wine for just over 3 hours and it is opening up beautifully. I was very impressed. Cheers.

Terrific. Great and Amazing. Delicious. Pick your superlatives for Red they all apply. 2013 is the year for La Joie.

2013 vintage on April 23, 2016. Very big cab still young with bitter tannins. Lots of rich dark fruit, slightly austere atm with astringent tannins in long linger. I do taste graphite now, along with dark cherry and an elusive herbal aromatic at the back of the bouquet. What is it??!
