2017 vintage. A blend of 85% Petit Verdot and 15% Merlot from the Monticello AVA in Central Virginia . Deep dark red colour with purplish rim. Cassis and violet. Starts out with juicy smooth dark berries, with the ripe tannin kicking in on the midpalate leading to a spicy finish with good length.

It's gorgeous, entering its prime- and one of the most profound and truly representative wines I've ever had from Virginia. It is the strong arm that holds the shield of Virginia's very own character.

This will always be one of my favorite petite Verdot and one of my favorite years for it. It has aged incredibly well and is good on its own without food but can compliment a good steak easily.
