Primus Colchagua Valley Carmenere

Came up as Argentina, not Chile.

Nailed it!

Some intense savory notes that I didn't find particularly pleasant.

Such a cool grape - great wine list at "The Fourth"

2010 Primus Carmenere, Colchagua Valley : jammy, big fruit, soft tannins...as expected. Date friendly

This is a blackberry and chocolate medium bodied wine with some pepper and currants on the short finish. The tannins have mellowed nicely and would pair well with a pizza or hamburger.

Heavy sediment! Don't think the bottle had been handled well. Good full flavor with hints of coffee.

Enjoying some great wine with my favorite partners.

Out of the bottle it had a bit of a hard edge on the finish, but with some air, it softened slightly and paired nicely with the grilled steak.
