La Universal Montsant Syrah Blend

Quite suave with it’s elegant texture and fine tannin, but there’s a rustic edge that breaks up the ripeness and adds dimension. Found the alcohol very balanced.

Pleasant medium body fresh and fruity, notes of red fruit, a touch of hibiscus and flowers, with hints of oak and spice, medium body, fresh with pleasant acidity and a lovely finish. My score 88, drink to 2023

Still has all its fruit and vibrancy, but the tannins have mellowed out quite a bit. Smoked plums, wild herbs, Moroccan spice. Beautiful

really showing how good montsant can transform when given a little time. full and rich with mulled spice, dried cherries, new leather shoes. about at its peak.

2004. The "poor man's Priorat" that tastes better than most Priorat.

I don't always indulge in a bottle of Spanish red but when I do it's always from Catalunya. Rene Barbier and Sara Perez project - terroir driving, glorious secondary characteristics. My current obsession on the list. @Casa Mono

Smooth and rustic at the same time. Drinking beautiful from the first sip.

2009. Fragrant, extracted, balanced, long and delicious.

Syrupy, concentrated, rich; red licorice, red plum, strawberry and briar notes. Touch of sour acid. Blackcurrant. Low fine-grained tannins. Needs to grow into it's structure.
