This is a fantastic Cabernet! Maybe the best current release cabernet I’ve had this year (so far). Sweet wood tannins well integrated, fresh red currants, and boysenberry. Great now, will age well for 20yr.

Nov 8th, 2021Venge Bone Ash is just so consistent. No corners or sharp edges to negotiate. Smooth and textured, displaying coffee, black fruits, moderate sweetness, and a tannic structure, which tilts beyond medium. Consumed across two days, and it behaved across both.

Aug 4th, 2021Sunday nite with my wife and soulmate. She chose one of her faves to compliment our dinner.. always a strong presentation, not as present as the 16 vintage. It’s extracted, but doesn’t display the poise and grace that we have become accustomed to with this bottling. Given the price, I won’t purchase more than the 3 bottles that I have.

Lost my original notes in the DL ether, so here I am again...
Lovely oak nose complimented with roses. Exotic dark fruits on the palate combine with cassis, forest floor and roasted coffee. Plush tannins mingle with moderate acidity. This is a truly brilliant example of a Cabernet.

So consistent, with purity of fruit. Displays a nice sense of place. Tannins are focused. Excellent oak treatment.

It was also her birthday, and my daughter and her fiancé gifted her these cute unicorn slippers!
The wine is clean, precise and multi-layered. Roasted black fruits give way to graphite and soft brown sugar. The finish extends and expands on the palate. This is a beauty of a cab.
