This is an amazing Chardonnay - see previous notes. Still pale Lemon in colour at 10 years of age. Oak is totally integrated. Some leesy smoky notes amongst the citrus. This wine is all about intensity and has won almost every Trophy in Australia. Outstanding.

Lemony mineral notes with some struck match sulphitic characters. A classic modern new world Chardonnay with more than a nod to Burgundy. Noted British Wine scribe Jancis Robinson MW tasted the 2013 blind in November 2017 in an international Chardonnay tasting and her notes “if not Leflaive then trying to be Leflaive. Very aristocratic. Lip smacking. Long. “ Gave it 18.5/20. A big score from her. Has consistently been one of Australia’s best.

Mealy and mineral notes with struck match and grapefruit. This Chardonnay reeks of quality- somewhere between Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Not overly fruit driven on the palate. Intoxicating savoury on the nose and intense on the palate. One of the best new world Chardonnays in existence. Outstanding.

Pale gold. This wine swept all before it on the Australian Show Circuit and has stamped Heytesbury as one of our great Chardonnays. A leesy smokey nose with a hint of sewing machine oil. Still citrusy with medium + intensity. A class act.

Stepping away from the classic Margs style, more moderate of body, slippery mouthfeel, a flirtation with reduction, really singing my song. I had the 2012 on the same night and I preferred it over the '10. A very happy debate indeed.

Pale lemon. Grapefruit, zesty. Some struck match and smoke. Palate showing stone fruit notes, perfectly handled oak, incredible length and cleansing acid. A very well made Chardonnay. This wine swept all before it on the Australian Show Circuit. Kick started the rapid improvement in Aussie Chardonnay (notwithstanding Leeuwin Estate which has been excellent for decades).

A discreet Chardonnay, slippery texture, soft fruit, high acid and sublime mouthfeel. A shift in style from the '10 vintage onwards, '11 and '12 also looking very good.

10 Vasse Heytesbury chard : brilliant sparkling lemony appearance ; complex bouquet of white stone fruit with sophisticated oak handling, a real touch of tang to the nose; medium bodied impact on entry, less intense than thought it might be, pleasing flavours which finish just a little short. just lacks a little intensity as well as drive. enjoyable nonetheless
