Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This bottle was opened several hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a couple of days. The 2021 pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruit: crème de cassis, blackberry, plum, tobacco, purple flowers, vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ the texture is silky. This is a big, bold, well made and all about dat fruit. Drink now with patience through 2036.

First time with this wine. Purchased a while back because...well Sam Kaplan (winemaker) highly suggested it. Wow! We gave it a good 1.5 hours in the decanter and it was worth the wait! Dark, deep purple in color and in taste. You can tell it has the Oakville area pedigree. Rich mouth feel, dark ripe fruit and a little dry cocoa on the end. Will be with owners Ron and Karen Davidowski on the Rhône next week, and want to shake their hands! Well done!

Deep purple color. Aromas of plum, cassis and dark chocolate covered cherries. Beautiful wine! Dark fruit on the palate, earl gray tea and baking spices.
