Vanessa Vineyard
Similkameen Valley Syrah
2017 vintage.
Similkameen Valley is to the west of Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.
The soil is very stony.
If you look at the label of Vanessa wines, it is an actual picture of the vineyards soil. Think galets from southern Rhone.
Deep, dark ruby red colour. Dark red fruit, raspberries and crème de cassis on the nose.
Big, rich and full bodied. Co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier.
So smooth with dark raspberries, black plums, meaty and black pepper.
All fruit is estate owned, hand picked and small batch fermented.

On the nose, this is deep dark cherry... On the palate, the feeling is more plum with the fuzz on... Licorice... Earth... Pepper... Medium length that leaves the mouth with plum fuzz texture...
