Fine chewy tannins, vivid acidity, nice balance, medium finish ending with a fruit character and slight notice of alcohol. Good value!

An old non-vintage bottling.
As for the age I would guess this to be somewhere late 60's to early 70's (as the bottle is embossed 4/5 quart which I believe was discontinued for the metric 750ml in 1979) and also has the "classic" plastic/rubber foil found on a lot of oldies from that time.
Being a bit of a history buff when it comes to CA's wine industry I'm very humbled when opening these pieces of history.
Amazingly this held up to 24+ hours of aeration without loosing any life...and actually got better!!
