Unti Vineyards
Benchland Dry Creek Valley Syrah
Nearly as I remember from tasting upon purchase at the tasting room.
Deep purple. Aromas of wood, spice, some bramble berry. Firm, drying tannins that have not really resolved over time in the bottle. Good structure of acidity.
A very good pairing with tomato/tomatillo braised, heirloom pork jowl, with smoky red beans and sweet potato fries cooked in lard.

Perfect outdoor gathering wine for MN in January.

Jan 12th, 2014There's just something different about UNTI Syrah. I'm not sure if it is the terrior or if Dry Creek just spits out Killer Syrahs. Super abundant flavor profile. It's all over the place, Kalakaua Olives and salt. Nose was Port in onset and then mellowed out.

Jun 3rd, 2023Lovely Syrah. Lots of fruit. Nice acidity. A great food wine but still nice for sipping!
