Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé Cuvée

Pale pink rose made of 55% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 5% Vermentino. Light, clean, notes of grapefruit, apricot, hint of roses, light to medium tannins. Makes me think of the clean briney taste of the sea, longing for raw oysters on the half shell.

Dry, crisp, light. Perfect summer replacement for my reds.

Just what I want in a rose. Crisp and dry - perfect.

Consider this one of my last bottles of anonymous corporate swill for a while. The good and godly @Brendan Devine hooked me up with a gift to a local purveyor of natural wines, proving that there are some loopholes to be found in the gov’t-run wine monopoly in Pennsylvania.

Look, this is fine. The capitalists can make perfectly decent stuff, great for a Wednesday night when you need to take your mind to a weird place. But wine ain’t wheat.

Had this dry rosé with poached salmon, arugula, roasted potatoes and artichokes. Also made a butter sauce out of it 👌
