17 Grande Réserve Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Not much of a finish. A little bit of cigar, black malt taste.

Dec 31st, 2016Super strong toasted malt and almond aroma, but just sweet barley through start to fin. Too sweet a beer for me. Think my bottle may be past its prime however, considering the lack of carbonation and VERY heady buzz
Reminds me of my very first home-brew barley wine.......(not a good thing)

Inspired by the brewing tradition of Belgian Trappist monks, this dark "ale on lees" (bottled with yeast sediment for further fermentation) has rich flavours of ginger and toffee.
