2012 German Pinot Noir. I opened this when Halloween came early with my last wine. I literally kissed the taint. With a prerequisite like that, let's skip to Germany, and more kink; corseted woman unravelling to reveal her sensual Pinot. That aside: this is really good. Pure essence of PN. Raspberry and smoke without the oak. Different. I have had Cinsault and Primitivo, Tempranillo and Syrah without oak, and all were interesting. But I think I like this best. Sexy as Grenache in its Satin dress, but a fit and toned lady with attitude. Strawberry Raspberry plum nose with a smooth stony-ness, the fruit ends there. The meaty smoky center of this tootsie pop unexpectedly shows medium mouthfeel, a tart streak, and lively acidity. Plus, it offers a nice even finish with thigh-high legs that go on and on. Did I mention they are leather? Kiss the boot on bended knee. You can fumble awkwardly with the corset laces once you have licked your way to the center! 9.99 Pinot that doesn't taste like ***? This paradox IS decidedly German!

A bargain at $14. It needs to breathe at least 15-20 minutes.
