Ulysse Collin
Les Enfers Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Champagne Chardonnay
Really cool to have this wine with age. A phenomenal vintage for Olivier Collin. It has evolved beautifully in bottle, seamlessly balanced between richness and elegance with stunning purity, depth and texture that wraps around the palate with a long, salty mineral laced finale. Killer bubbles.

Aug 22nd, 2024Even more expressive than the last time I had the ‘15, it’s deep, intense and radiates with energy and Burgundian flair. There’s a leesy richness, while at the same time shows impeccable purity and elegance in its core of ripe orchard fruit, curry leaf, rose oil and exotic spices. The palate is deeply structured and incredibly vibrant with racy citrusy acids that lead to a long, tension filled and smoky mineral laced finale. If Meursault could sparkle here you have it. ✨

Aug 27th, 2023This is the 60 months with a 2015 base. Amazing how I can fool myself and spend silly dollars on wine by justifying it’s probably selling at “ below retail if you can find it”. All the great traits of a UC bottle taken to its extreme, but by no means freakish. Similar to the Spinal Tap scene, “these go to eleven” . Food is a must.

Feb 20th, 2022Another knockout from Olivier. Deep and powerful, yet retains such transparancy and elegance. I loved this! For me, it was less about the fruit and more about the chalky, warm earth, saline characters here. Riesling-worthy acidity that just carries the minerality to infinity. Doesn't seem to flesh out throughout the week it remained open, so definitely could use a couple of years in the cellar. Wish I had more.
