Dark red with a pale rim. Ripe red cherry, licorice, underbrush and a hint of game on the complex nose. Ripe but suave, offering nuances of aromatic herbs and tar that complement spicy red currant and blood orange flavors. Soft-textured and slightly marked by some alcohol-derived warmth (14.5%), this finishes long and ripe. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2018)

Medium bodied, firmly structured and rather energetic, it sports a reserved and savory profile of aromatic wild herbs and spicy underbrush fruit.
As it warmed up in the stemware, it began to better display a balanced structure with vibrant acidity and fine grained tannins. The finish is juicy and long.

Had this on my radar for a while and it didn’t let us down. What a wine! Rustic nose (in a positive way), and integrated taste, silky and round. Nice!

Great Wines of Italy SFO. The official 2019 guidebook online at www.jamessuckling.com/event/great-wines-italy-usa-2019-guidebook . Not rating since I’m using one glass and most of these wines were only open for a little bit before tasting. Super fun night. Always like these guys
