Short decant. Not flawed, but definitely over the hill. Decent nose of earth and cherries. Wine is obviously tired. Not bad by any means.

Black olive, black current, quite saline, somewhat bloody. Ripe damson plum. Slight bubblegum on the nose. Not overly round or tannic. Nicely evolved.

After 10 years, this lively Merlot showed orange color round the rim, deep dark fruits up front and virtually no tannins. Almost like a port. While enjoyable I should've opened it at least two years ago. Sometimes wines seem to hide from us. The winery was pouring a 2008 vintage last week which tasted close to this one.
