Copeland Vineyard Lemberger

92/8 blend of Lemberger and Merlot. Purple-red, moderately extracted pigment. Berry and funk notes in nose on pour. Cherry, raspberry and black currant (with depth) flavors, moderate tannins on finish with black currant tartness. A dense-flavored table red with a solid tannic core, not too astringent or bitter, but not a light style. Good acid. Lots of decanting might take it somewhere else, but a solid red if you don’t have the time to wait it out.

I'm being pressured to bring in the Lions Lemberger, but I really like this one. At the same price point or a bit more, what should I do? 88pts./ANW/425

Very similar to Pinot but without the body of it

Funky nose: barnyard nose with almost a hint of cranberry. Very smooth, almost Smokey flavor. Slight chocolate notes on the end? Decent wine.

Tasted at Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in Woodinville, WA. Nose not impressive, but loved the dark fruitiness on the palate.

Juicy dark fruit deliciousness.
