May 3rd, 2020Pretty awesome to try as you just don't see these every day. You know that feeling you have when you think a wine is going to be in one style and instead it is the polar opposite? That's what I experienced with this one. If Hi-C made an alcoholic blackberry juice box, this would be one of its prototypes. And I mean that as well as I possibly can, because this wine was solid like all the other Turley wines I have had in the past. Finishes well. At first the tannin seemed pretty stiff and the finish was a little bit abrupt. After an hour or so, there was more blackberry pie, hint of mocha, some black pepper to the finish. Nice wine. Wondering how the other cabs I see in their profile drink versus this.

Jul 13th, 2019Hasn’t changed a bit since first opening two years ago. Still awesome, still going strong. Concentrated, luscious, velvety. Black cherry, currant, plum, and baking spice. The oak is noticeable, but never overwhelming. Big, but nicely balanced. Turley is so well known for zins but this is no ham-and-egger and is really underrated.
