Very much a competitor with modern Syrah producers. Bold, ripe and with surprising balance for a wine this rich. Great to see and experience!

Big nose, blueberries, blueberries, black olives, quite smoky, with sweet tobacco tones.
Green and black pepper, lot of other species too.
This one is a big boy, lot of body. Surprisingly, keeps some freshness. Very good length.
Great wine overall.

It's syrah season round my house.
After the Australian Shiraz finished we might as well open up a local (Israeli one)
Blacker red dense red with long legs 👁️
Leather and tobbaco attack and whole spice shop with some black fruit shop close by 👃
High acidity.
Spices variety with some ripe black fruit in the background. This is bold! 👄
Soft tannins and medium 🎯
This is hard-core oak treatment and maximum fruit ripeness.
The oz Shiraz I had before felt like a gentlemen and this one was a fighter.
Need to try a rhone classic Shiraz to get some softness now. Or do I? This one makes me all confused about my syrah / Shiraz conception.
Maybe it's all in the vintage?

Israel channels McLaren Vale, should've called this a Shiraz! Charcoal and leather nose marred only slightly by a whiff of prunyness. Fantastic palate of complex black and blue fruit, fine tannins and a long, velvety cassis finish. Would merit higher score but for the prune, which could just be the product of a long-open bar bottle.
