An Oaky chardonnay from Sonoma County.

Showing oak, vanilla, spices, earth, vegetables, herbs and bitter almonds on the finish.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and creamy.

Tangy bitter finish with almonds.

This 6 year old Chardonnay is unbalanced, and too oaky for me at this point.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

85 points.

$30.

Wagner family project owned and run by Joe Wagner. Sunshine yellow with aromas of green fruits and oaky notes. Approachable wine offers a sense of richness, apple, mango and overdone oak. Medium finish, a bit too acidic, ending with more oak than fruit. Many better wines at the $20 price point. No aging potential, it’s a consume now wine. Tasting Sample.

Nice, solid and crisp citrus and muted butter notes along with some green apple that dances about the pallet - a slight hint of earthiness as this comes together in a wonderful well done Chard!

Oak, butter, clove spices, apple, pear, peach and a hint of lemon. Smooth, great body and acidity.

I have to say..for a guy who says he doesn't like to make white wine, he is making a fairly decent one... definitely new world fruit forward, and some Malo...bur he has really integrated the oak in well with the bright notes and elegant mouth feel. It has loads of apple tart flavor with brown spices, loads of vanilla, and hints of sweet pineapple and a touch of coconut. Nothing sticks our too much. I'll say he one upped his brother, Charley, at the Caymus Winery with his Mersolei wines he had done, or even Conundrum White. Keep up your work, Joey..

Okay toasty chard, with a bit of smoke. I felt like the nice fruit flavors of chardonnay were overtaken by the oak on this one. Someone else mentioned this overtaking Mer Soliel and I would have to say the opposite. There in lies the beauty of wine, everyone's tastes are different.

Nice crispness and acidity. Green apple. Too heavy on oak and yet feels a little thin.
