Tsarine
Brut Champagne Rosé Blend
I absolutely love Tsarine Rosé.. this was a Truffle Burrata with heirloom tomatoes and Basil. It was a perfect pairing.. the truffle and creamy buffalo mozz fell in well with the toast and mousse of the champagne, while the acidity and saltiness from the tomatoes and balsamic fell right in with the strawberry and citrus zest undertones. This app didn't last long. Valentine's day with my wife :)

Jan 27th, 2018Happy International #RoséDay! One of the many - but hey I’m not complaining 😜
I was kindly sent this bottle of @champagne_tsarine Rosé to try (thank you!) and we thought today would be as perfect day as any to crack it.
I don’t think you need an excuse for champagne, however here’s a few things we’re celebrating tonight:
🍾 Our baby girl turned 3 months old this week
🍾 We survived another week with 2 kids under 3 and running a busy family business
🍾 It’s Friday!
We tried the Champagne Tsarine Brut in 2020 (approx $50) and loved it, so I was excited to try the Rosé (approx $70).
It is from the champagne house Chanoine Frères which is the one of the oldest champagne houses being founded in Reims in 1730!
Today it is led by one of the first, and few, female winemakers in Champagne, Isabelle Tellier.
Champagne Tsarine has now collected 42 awards and Tsarine Rosé Brut has won 50 awards after taking home the Gold Medals at the Berlin Wine Trophy Competition and the Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards.
The design of the bottle is Russian inspired and dates back to when the Chanoine brothers travelled to the Russian Imperial courts to try to sell their wines – and after many months, Elisabeth the First, Tsarine of Russia, tasted and bought the first bottles.
So what’s it like??
In the glass it’s a gorgeous peach shade with vibrant aromas of raspberries and strawberries with a hint of almond croissants and lemon cream. It’s super refreshing and thirst quenching in the mouth with a gorgeous redcurrant finish. I could drink it allll night long 😉
And it’s perfect with cheeses, bread and platter-food 🤤
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

nose of strawberry cream cheese danish, toast and apricot with notes of grass and citrus. Tastes of apple, honey, and white flowers. Easy drinking with fine bubbles.

Nov 9th, 2024Deep salmon color. Clean, citrusy, and almost velvet-like (??) smell. Lots of small bubbles, and such a crisp, delightful finish. Loved it.

Aug 19th, 2023On occasion I (and my wife by extension) get invited by a restaurant to enjoy an evening of wining & dining on the house in exchange for some Instagram publicity. I, of course, gladly accept their hospitality, not only because I love food & wine but also because I relish the opportunity to share (hopefully) positive experiences had at local restaurants. Tonight’s experience was at Lucio’s BYOB, which I’ve been to numerous times. However, tonight I was invited to return for dinner and explore a multitude of new menu items at the behest of their Marketing Director, Irina, who has had the pleasure of serving at various acclaimed restaurants in France and Italy (including none other than Osteria Francescana), as well as numerous local hot-shot restaurants here in Houston. Since I would be the only one drinking over dinner, I chose to bring a Champagne split of a selection I had never had before by a producer I had never experienced. Tsarine’s Brut Rosé offered the perfect pairing for all manner of dishes from cured gravlox, to crab cake, to Australian lamb rack, to assorted desserts and more. Ripe strawberries, peaches, and delicate flowers, I enjoyed my first exposure to this producer and wouldn’t mind trying some of their other offerings.
