Spells just like Christmas berries (wild pepper)
Medium bodied - the heavier side of the scale - Pepper, Pepper, Pepper! Tight berry blend, cherry, Blueberry, some jazz apple. A great acid/tannin balance, and still that pepper lingers.. Worth the interesting sips.

Last time I had this wine the experience upset me it was so bad. This time a bit better but still a low score. It lacks...alot.

On the nose, red fresh florals, violets, blackberries, black plum, blueberries, light spice & black licorice. On the palate, lean & ripe fruits of; blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, blackberries, medium pepper, nice spice, caramel, vanilla, anise, high but tamed acidity, dusty tannins and a touch of herbaceousness.

From NZ's premier red wine area comes this Syrah that shows a fierce savoury attack, a lean, refreshing and tannic texture with admirable 12,5% and such a presence of complex, atractive flavours: sexy raspberry, cracked black pepper nose and a refreshing acidity. There's more to New Zealand than (awesome) Sauv Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. I love the savory Syrah coming out of GG!
