Platinum Reserve Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon

As others have pointed out, this is way too jammy, definitely not balanced

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. No true theme this month. Some wines tasted blind.

Tasted blind...always good to have a bottle like this to keep people on their toes 😂.
Clove, menthol and a wintergreen note on the nose. Seems like a ringer for Aussie Shiraz. Soft. Sweet pipe tobacco & baked pie finish. A lot of sweetness here accompanied by a lot of oak. There is basically zero tannic structure on this. Thanks for pulling this out of your cellar @Benjamin Keator 😂

Jammy and fruity. Some oak and mocha notes. No tannins to speak of. Easy to drink but not complex

Juicy cab. Meant to have with a meal. The bottle is heavy so it’s meant to be aged.

From Cardinale. Been awaiting this for months. I strongly disagree with my brethren on this but I came away disappointed. I found a heavy use of oak to be overly intrusive, with fruit coming off too sweet and jammy, almost syrupy.

Full body, smooth finish. Slightly smoky and berry-filled taste. Solid choice for $20

Worth every penny. Juicy and fruity. Not too sweet. Very balanced. One of my favorites.

Very great Berry and super good oakiness

A bit young, but at $18 this is a steal. This drinks like a $40 bottle. If I had to guess I would say this is a Goosecross or Stephanie cab. Lay it down for a year at least. This drinks well between 2019 and 2021.

Yountville would not claim this - really unrefined , muddy , far too jammy
