Nov 15, 2020. Welcome (back) to Tucson. Caitlin brought when delivering lots of wine she bought for me. Easy drinking, medium bodied. Have I ever had a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that I didn’t like? Reliably enjoyable.

Much more bitter than I would have expected. Mellows a bit as it sits, but not enough. Not for me.

Smells of dark fruit and on the palate also initially but then followed by burnt wood. Not for me.

Medium body, low acidity, simple wine with a nice balance! Chocolate covered cherry, plum, pepper, and rose petals.

Great food wine. Starts nice and fruity - blackberry, cherry - finishes dry, spicy cedar notes.

Clear, deep purple wine with thin legs, cooked red fruit (cherry and plum) and notes of vanilla, mushroom, leather on the nose. Medium-light bodied mouthfeel, medium-low acidity with stewed red fruit and hints of vanilla with a light but medium-long finish. Not super complex but well balanced, fresh and fruity. Probably would go well with oily fish, sautéed mushrooms, creamy tomato sauces.
