Calafuria Salento Rosé Negroamaro

This pink wine’s nose is laden with ripe, red fruit - cherries, strawberries - and a touch of citrus - lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit. There is also an herbal note, a sort of greenness than leans into minerality. The palate brings the red fruit first, followed by the citrus. The acidity is great, and the mouthfeel is quite full. If Negroamaro is the future of Italian rosé, bring it on.

Very pale pink. Big ample nose and palate with aromas and flavors of red berries, quinine and orange peel. Chewy and tactile, offering lovely balance and a hint of extra sugar on the back end, but this works. The color is rather atypical for a Salento Rosato, but I guess it does echo the pale pink wines of Provence that are all the rage nowadays. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, June 2018)

Crisp peach, minerality, red fresh gala apple, lemon on the nose. Med body, high acid, med intensity, slightly frizzante, fresh green apple bite,, red strawberry and cherries on the first followed by crisp minerality. Fruity,crisp rosé. Drink with swordfish crudo, pasta with scampi, grilled octopus. 11.5% abv

On the palate it is light bodied, dry and very fresh with strawberry, and baked sour cherry flavors with an appealing combination of savory and mineral elements

un Rosado fantastico para el calor del verano. Levemente afrutado, mayor acidez que otros rosados tradicionales. Con unas notas leves de cerezas y citricos muy bien balanceados… una joya por menos $17 dolares.
