Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Full-bodied and smooth. Showing black fruits, vanilla, wood, licorice, spices, black pepper, chocolates and mocha.

Nice length on the finish with medium tannins.

Fruit forward and a good everyday wine.

Good with food or by good by itself, and good for parties. Might be too fruity for some.

Deep ruby. Nose of red fruits and oaky berries. Full bodied palate yields dark red fruits and a bit of plum. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. Structured well enough for food. Maybe good for a sipper as well. A very well made reb blend (Zinfandel, Grenache, Carignan) from the Wagner family. Drink now.

From the Wagner Family. A blend of old-vine Zinfandel, Grenache and Carignan. Big berry fruit aromas with notes of sweet spice. Blackberry and cherry flavors with cacao, currant and vanilla oak. Firm tannins, good balance, lingering ending with fruit, oak and earthy mineral character. Nice. Tasting Sample.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, licorice, oak, spices, chocolates, smoke, peppermint, coffee, mocha, tobacco, earth, peppercorn and leather.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a great red blend from the house of the Wagner family. Balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. Very fruity with lots of black fruits and chocolate notes.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. Peaking now and not one for long term aging. Very similar to the freakshow Cabernet.

A nice red blend from the house of the Caymus family. A blend of Zinfandel, Garnacha and Carignan.

Crazy black licorice on the palate with black fruits and wood. Very interesting and tasty. A little hot at the back of the throat. Needs another year to chill in the bottle.

Not bad, but not my cup of tea. Brand new blend under Copper Cane (Joseph Wagner), showing some similarity to The Prisoner, and encompassing the idea of old grapes of Sonoma. Rich, chewy tannins, jam factor, loads of red fruit and mocha, and a spicy finish. Better than conundrum red, and more or less flavorful than the prisoner.
Blend is Grenache, Zinfandel, and Carignan.

A blend of mostly old-vine Zinfandel with Grenache and Carignan. Another one of Joe Wagner’s crafted wines. Bold aromas of dark fruit and spice. On the palate blackberry fruit flavors with notes of cacao, oak and big spice, a bit too much spice for my palate. Full big tannins screaming for decanting, medium finish ending with oaky spice. Needs some age. Tasting Sample!

Dark neutral opaque red color.
Currants, herbs, anise, licorice, cherry on the nose.
Little to no tannins, but somehow rich and intense.
Medium structure, some roundness to be discovered.
Paired with baked ziti

Decent wine but I was somewhat unimpressed. Writing this a few weeks after drinking it and can’t remember specific tastes (more proof of being unimpressed).

Did not like for the price point, at all.
