Burns of alcohol when first opened, but opens up slightly after that. Drinks well below its price point. There was clearly a good reason it was $20 dollars off at Total Wine (before coupon). Even after getting it for $30 off with a coupon, you’re better off getting the Torial Sonoma County Red Blend.

Deep ruby hue. Enticing aromas and flavors of blackberry, cherry, licorice, oak, plum, strawberry, and vanilla. Medium body: bold yet velvety, medium-plus tannins; and medium-plus acidity. Lush palate with lots of black fruit. Finish is short, but attack eventful. Big yet balanced.

Very nice wine. Definitely needs to open up before drinking. I actually preferred the 1858 out of Paso Robles that the Wagner family produces as well.
