A wee bit precocious at this early stage if its development, but the stuffing offs there to make this a long term cellar candidate. I firmly believe that patience will be rewarded.

Mar 13th, 2016Cedar, mint, leather, violets, vanilla, pepper, tar, baking spice, cherries, blackcurrant, hard candy, rosemary, pine and oak. Tick all that apply. - Tick ✅ soft tannins with layers of complexity, worth the spend and no doubt it will get better and better.

Mar 4th, 2018Big, dense and ripe. From vines cloned from Rhone before the phylloxera. I just love this wine. Comparing it to the d'Ampuis is a little like comparing the thinner more acidic Bordeaux to the California cabs.

Jan 31st, 2016Gorgeous! Reminiscent of all the things I love about my favorite Rhone styles. I don't know why people let trends effect their judgement, but everybody needs to get their minds right about Australia. Torbreck produces some incredible juice!!!

Jan 14th, 2016Medium plus ruby-purple to a ruby rim.
Tightly wound, tight and dense nose. Blackberry - perfectly ripe and muscular. Slight smoked meat savoriness. White pepper. Unlike rhone there's a tone of super-intense jammy, almost syrupy fruit. But there's so much complexity here as well. Sweet vanillin toast - well-integrated French oak. A hint of menthol/eucalyptus.
Medium plus body, high alcohol - 15%. Elevated acid, and medium tannins. Persistent, concentrated, and refined.
This is really good - not the most complex, but the fruit character is so friggen good.
