Reds Lodi Red Blend

So identifiably Lodi. Loads of slightly muddy, gloppy fruit, low acid. No minerality. On the plus side, it was cheap and has a screwcap, and I needed to unwind in my posh Best Western room after a 10 hour drive livened by intermittent car trouble. And the 14.5% alcohol helped me do that.

Lodi AVA. Carignane, Petite Sirah and Zin. Spicy, mouthfulling and fresh. A fun wine and great value. Good spicy length. 2014 vintage. Abv. 14,5%.

Good wine for casual drinking. Low acidity and low tannin.

Good very black peppery, went well with steak.

Used for cooking and for drinking during cooking.

Bought for the label. Nice spicy west coast blend for the holiday weekend.

At 14.5 abv, it's a bit out of balance, but nice flavors and good value.

2014 all the juice flav.

A great value wine. Up front acidity and backend dark fruit with a peppery fall down all the way. Not sure why it's rated low, it drinks well for its price point.
