Contra Costa County Zinfandel
What a joy! Rich ruby color leads to an expressive bouquet of cocoa, earthy wisps of violet and just a smidge of cinnamon. Then the body comes along and this is the strong-point of this young Zinfandel- balanced, integrated & juicy- reflecting all the promises of the nose and delivering a truly, surprisingly balanced, mouth-coating finish that is profoundly refined considering its age.

Mar 18th, 2020Hot at first, but has opened up well. Dark berry, and alcohol on the nose. More of a velvety fruit bomb, but very pleasant. Enjoying this a lot. It’s very different.

Sep 16th, 2015Bright red in color.
Not too fruity on the nose with earthy notes and blueberries, blackberries and cherries .
Light to medium bodied and elegant.
Dry on the attack and fruity on the back of the palate with cherries, blueberries, black pepper, oak and wood.
Unbalanced with too much acid for the tannins, yet enough fruits.
Medium finish with nice silky tannins.
15.2% alcohol by volume.

Very fruity. Black cherry and blackberry aromas and some notes of cinnamon, then balanced fruit and baking spices that tingle the tongue and linger on. What Goes with That: Fall Sweets Class, pairing: pumpkin pie.

Oct 28th, 2022SASY Saturday Blind Tasting. Intense red fruit aromas (cherry) with some earthy and some oaky notes, similar palate, and the lighter body and higher tannins didn't lead us to a Zin!

Nov 27th, 2021That's a rich, spicy Zinfandel with a nice aftertaste. It makes me realize how much I like Zin. I wonder how it would taste if I let it go for another year.
