Thomas Fogarty
Estate Grown Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay
This wine was very impressive for its age, was really showing off burg like.

Apr 28th, 2024Dark color with overt oak characteristics on both nose and palate. Extremely tropical with concentrated pineapple and lime zest flavors. Malo lends some creaminess to help subdue the tropical character on the finish. 14.5% is apparent from the midpalate through the finish and contributes to the whole package being just a bit out of focus.

Feb 3rd, 2020Aging well and at a great place. Still retaining freshness, but developing some of the complexity of age

Oct 21st, 2014A blend of all estate vineyards.
Most malo of all tasted.
Vanilla, lemon meringue, clove and a wee allspice on the closing notes.
Represents a very well crafted, expertly crafted wine but it has a bit of a generic character of 'Cool climate California Chardonnay'.
The ticket price of $95 retail is an expensive admission for this show.

Definitely somewhere on the butterscotch spectrum which is usually a big turnoff for me, but here it’s part of a sweet creamy lemon / just-ripe pineapple meringue with acid lift and a crazy long finish for something that costs 30$.
