Business Development Belmont Wine Exchange, WSET Diploma candidate
8.6
More character in store than I'd expected! Gentle but unequivocal structure with a good amount of acid and integrated tannins. Violets, bright cherry compote, passion fruit, dried flowers, a bit of animal undertone and a steak of wet stone made for a colorful and unexpected combination. About fifteen minutes in, it had a Gamay-like character but that evolved, too. Although the wine seemed slightly unfocused, it was most pleasant. It was enjoyed with filet mignon, fried Brussels sprouts, baked potato.
