Another producer to inherit some vineyards from Verset was Thiérry Allemand who purchased Noëls holdings in Reynard. That vineyard is the cornerstone for this wine. The 1999 Allemand “Reynard” is still full of fresh brambles, some cow pasture, and beautiful purple flowers. It’s sanguine with inorganic earth and gentle spices. Bangin’ with venison, umami bomb, potato and pearl onion. This is gorgeous and should be outstanding through 2040+.

Still youthful and delicious. Showed blackberry, pepper, bacon and gaminess with a iron/mineral finish.

Great expression of Cornas from the master. Amazingly youthful, complex and finessed with lots of black cherry, raspberry, hung meat, licorice, black olive and violets.

slight secondary, high tones tight, intense red fruit, awesome extract that finishes uber long with delicate spice notes. Serious tannin verging on rustic followed by the finish.

1 word: Goddam! If you know Syrah, here is the pope, unicorn, last of the Mohicans...you name it, it's here!
