Quite earthy and buoyant for Cornas. Could have gone much further!

Already so good! Chaillot is much easier to drink young than the more concentrated and rich Reynard. 2020 Chaillot is gorgeous, perfumed and mineral with layered, vibrant fruit and liquid rock minerality. Beautiful wine and perfect with lamb ribs frites for lunch!

Black and green pepper. Blood and cool iron. A lovely savory nose. On the palate cool and balanced. Great fruit without too much heat. A punch of salty and iodine. Delicious

Sooo seems 2010 Northern Rhône is ready! After a stunning 2010 Jamet in recent weeks I was inspired to try ‘10 Allemand. A multi-hour decant has it simply rocking, wafting distinctive, captivating Allemand aromatics of deep dark fruit, olive tapenade, charcuterie, violets and a liquid rock minerality. It’s at the point where fresh primary fruit meets the cusp of secondary, tertiary character. The palate is silky, vibrant and mineral with its structured tannins beginning to soften. I wonder how 2010 Reynard would compare. But Chaillot, with air, is most certainly ready, but of course only entering its prime drinking window. Love these wines!

Unlike 2012 Reynard which needs hours in the decanter to show, Chaillot is fabulous right off the bat. Always an amazing expression of Syrah. ❤️

This is gorgeous. A soft supple nose if roses, violets, blackcurrant fruit, iron. Complex and delicious. Great length. Lovely

From the younger vines Chaillot, which really, at the right time, can be equally as fabulous as Reynard in its own way, is brilliant tonight at age 10, entering the cusp of early maturity. Showing even better than the 13 Reynard I had just a month back, it captivates with distinctive Allemand aromas and a deep fruited profile, both black and red with olive tapenade, fresh violets and Provençal herbs along with its signature liquid rock minerality. The palate is pure velvet with killer concentration, caressing with each sip before giving way to lengthy, vibrant and mineral inflicted finish with silky smooth tannins. Damn I love these wines and 2012 Chaillot was particularly delicious tonight. 🙌🏻
