This striking blend of Beaujolais Gamay and Côte d'Or Pinot Noir offers cool scents of black cherry and licorice and a noble rusticity to its very ripe, plush flavors of black raspberry and spices energized by saline minerality and a note of granite. Dark ruby color, subtle Violet aroma, red cherry, blueberry, a bit dusty, raspberry, red plum, med acidity, med tannin, med to med plus body, ripe fig, ripe banana peel, just a touch of cinnamon, clove oaky note. 2/3 Gamay & 1/3 Pinot. Not sure if I will spend that much for a Gamay blend and the grapes r from all over the Beaujolais region.

Medium ruby , medium pink tinged rim . Quite richly fruited , with dark cherry , blackberry , ripe strawberry. On the palate similar fruit to the nose , dark cherry and blackberry predominating , with a hint of spice and a saline touch also. Slightly rustic tannins and balanced acidity and alcohol but a slightly short finish . Drink now and over the next 2-3 years. I was expecting a little more from this producer .

Moderate reddish purple. Aromatic with raspberry, black cherry, violets, and hints of cloves. Exuberant dark fruit on the palate with balanced acidity and surprising tannic structure. Liger-Belair weds biodynamic viticulture to his non-interventionist style of wine making to produce his plump style blending “les deux terres” (the two lands) with 75% Gamay from his Moulin-à-Vent cru Beaujolais parcel and 25% Pinot from Bourgogne parcels. This lovely wine is miles away from Beaujolais Nouveau and a fantastic example of the “serious wine” that can be produced there. $25.

Perfumed on the nose with cherry cola, herbs, potpourri, dried rose petals, and menthol. On the palate pretty acidic with ripe cherries and plums.
