2009 vintage. Great for a simple lieu-dit, round, full fruit, nice delineated, good minerality. Great value

Feb 15th, 20172009 vintage. From Jay. Thibault Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee "Aux Reas" - The cork was pulled 1 hour prior to the wine being served from bottle. Deep red in colour. Red fruits on the nose mixed with spice and crushed rock. Very tight on the pallet but with great concentration of red fruit. Very thick fruit on the mid pallet - a real abundance of ripe red cherries and raspberries. Displays all the hallmarks of a wine made in a reductive fashion. The fruit is very vibrant and the finish is purposeful and long with good minerality. Consumed over 90 minutes. The wine continued to improve all the way until the last sip. Great effort and immensely enjoyable for a Villages wine. Quite approachable now but has the legs to stick around for a while. 92/100. Drink now to 2025+.

Dec 3rd, 20152009 vintage. Medium ruby, edging towards garnet. Burned match, reductive sulphur tones. Smokey, black fruited. On the palate, not as alluring as the nose. Medium body, acidity, concentration. Medium plus finish. Seems to be inhibited and slightly dilute. Maybe too young. NB: with air, beef consume and coffee notes.
