Christmas Cuvée Syrah

Quite nice Syrah with lamb stew. Rich and savory, like the stew. Found at a wine store in Port Townsend in 2023 ($23). Cannot find many Washington syrahs in SoCal.

Nose opens with smoked meat, olive, leather, and dark fruit. Palate is mid-weight and shows ripe blackberry, cherry, thyme, black pepper, and briney minerality. Good finish and nice acid. Stellar QPR for a baby Reynvaan

Down with the funk. Especially at 25 dollars. This is reynvaan juice. 90 syrah, 6 marsanne, 4 viognier.

Fun wine. 90% Syrah / 6% Marsanne / 4% Viognier. Medium bodied, but on the lighter side for new world Syrah. Cassis, smoked meat, violets, etc but the unexpected, stand out note here is the warming winter spices - particularly cloves and nutmeg. Seasonally appropriate.

Unnamed series Christmas Cuvée. Reynvaan vineyards. This is meaty with crushed berries, herbs, pepper, and a hint of saline. Really interesting Syrah. Would like to try again in a few years.
