Fruity nose of blackberries, black plums, cherries, wood, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, blueberries, wood, earth, vanilla, spices, espresso, mocha and black pepper.
Long finish with very fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 3 year old is a nice surprise, as now all the flavors are well integrated. Well balanced, complex and interesting.
Peeking now and good by itself or with food. I had it before when it was younger, and it is so much better now. The tangy finish makes it interesting.

Not subtle. Big oak, tannin. Big fruit. Not cloying like other big reds in this style/price range. Best of the bunch from Don $ Sons today.

Medium to full-bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, coffee, chocolates, oak, licorice, spices and peppercorn.
Medium finish with soft tannins, red pepper and spices.
This inexpensive Petite Sirah is drinking nicely now without too much tannins. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Not very complex but enjoyable nonetheless, with a light mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle, although it got a little better after an hour or so.
A nice, above average, everyday table wine.
