"Mise en Place" Jonathan & Susan Pey Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

Good showing, but overall, this lacks symmetry. Tannins are showing well, but acidity is sharp on the mid-palette (per my son). Nice sweetness and concentration. Finishes a touch vegetal, and disjointed. From magnum.
This has relaxed with air-time. Upping the rating a touch as a result.

An excellent showing! Wonderful, full notes of cassis, leather and boysenberry on the nose. Deep dark fruit on the palate. Moderate tannins that will further integrate with time. Lengthy finish. I believe no less an authority than @Cathy Corison described this cuvée as "en pointe". Enough said!

Quality product. Muted nose. Excellent mouthfeel. Slight heat. Finish is cut short.

We agree that this 2012, while young is very drinkable. Only 12 barrels made and I wish I'd have picked up a case. We'll be back.

This is a very good wine and better than the Textbook Cabernet Napa wine, but I hate to say it, not worth the price difference.
