Really have to agree with the wine title- this seemed “textbook” Merlot. Yes, there were some dark berry flavors, strong spices and modest tannins for a young wine. Another bottle in my search to find my wife a plethora of good merlots. This will stay on our list of must drinks.

Aug 1st, 2021Deep purple with some ruby highlights. Aroma is oak, plum, and leather. Not particularly tannic on the palate, but plenty of jammy fruit (plum, blackberry), as well as leather and oaky vanilla notes. In general too many bold moments and not enough sophistication. An 87.

Splendid Merlot. Blackberry and dark fruit lush nose, light toasted oak and structured tannins with a long tannic finish.
