This nose has a pronounced intensity of ripe black fruits (black currants, black plums) dark chocolate, herbal and intense minerality. The palate is beautiful with well integrated and complex notes of black fruits, (blackberries, black plum skin) clove spice, savory spice, bittersweet dark chocolate, smoke, and granite. The minerality in this wine is amazing. It hits in all the right places and adds depth of this full body wine.

What is the official grape of Priorat, Grenache or #Carignan?
Grenache may be better known, especially in modern times, but this version of 60 year vine Carignan is making a good case for the latter.
Violet flowers, blackberry and blueberry, a little graphite and a shade of light spice. The tannins are ripe and medium grain, going almost powdery extending into the finish.
Make sure you open and let it get air for an hour before you get into the wine.

Carignan 100%, fully autochthonous, from different vineyards on slate soils. Balanced, elegant, long finish, totally different from the current and popular blend. I prefer this one. Go on with your own grapes, #Priorat friends! #-DWCC

Intense scents of red cherries and earth. Caught off guard by the very solid level of acidity which gives a nice boost to the plums, berries, spice and mineral flavors. Tannins are restraining the wine from showing its best but I expect them to resolve in 3-5 years . First time with this producer and I would like to try their other wines.
