So I just had an aged version of this wine, and it’s FANTASTIC. I gave it an 8.1 years ago. What a wicked way to see how wine aging helps it develop. So impressed.

Waitrose. Disappointing. Even with the aerator and then having let it breathe for an hour or two, it was still too drying on the palate. Which was a shame as there were definite flavours in it - orange undertones and berries and wood. Better out there.

Dark fruit forward with subdued tannins. Hints of cherries, blackcurrent. Needs about 29 mins to breathe. Nicely balanced.

I've had better nebbiolos than this Barolo, you'd expect more from something that bears the Barolo name. this cheapens the brand. that said, I still look upon it favorably.

Nose of wood, tobacco, raspberries, and flowers (violets?). Still quite balanced acidity at 10 y/o, palate if dark berries, some vanilla, tame tannins. Clearly not top-shelf Barolo, but really surprising!
